Labradorite, Moss, Quartz, Celestite, Selenite, Soil, Shell, Clay, Resin, Glass, Fabric, 18kt Gold, Surgical Steel, Roots.

A sculpture hyper-charged with intention. Each movement- a ritual, a reflection.

The figure’s gaze is turned inward. Their reach turns to tendrils, branches that extend into the ether, shrouded in moss and gold. A glowing orb of labradorite floats above the figure’s crown, simultaneously the guiding light and orb of creation potential.

The figure is rooted downward by a cord of 18kt gold and quartz crystal, touching the energy field of another quartz crystal that was excavated and gifted to me by an angel of a human. A microscopic root system recovered from my parents yard is suspended in an oval of resin, and rests upon that bond.

The darkest, richest soil- given to me by my father and from my family’s garden- holds this sculptural ecosystem. The soil went through much of a process to recover the finest grains, a meditation, a ritual. I sifted through this dirt with a tiny strainer that I previously used to hand-strain my celery juice daily- a tool to treat the health of my person. I sifted for days, hands dirtied, floor dirtied, cushions covered in fingerprints of dirt. These fine grains of soil I mixed in with crystal dust of celestite, selenite, and quartz gathered from my travels across the land.
